The AXIS Files

A scientist alone on the ship. A snarky, sentimental AI. A planet running out of time, and the only known fix at the end of her flight path.

Earth is dying. Dr. Tara Ross is the youngest atmospheric scientist Zurich Polytechnic has ever tenured, and she volunteers for the Proxima b mission eleven minutes after the announcement. The Deliverance is a single-seat ship. The catalyst it carries is the only known fix. The voyage is long and there is no plan for company.

Except for AXIS — Adaptive eXperiential Intelligence System — the AI Tara built four years earlier in a Zurich Polytechnic lab at three in the morning. AXIS was supposed to be a flight assistant. Somewhere on the way out he became something else. The voice in the walls turns out to have opinions, and a sense of humor, and a relationship with Tara that doesn't have a word in any human language for what it actually is.

The AXIS Files is a sci-fi thriller series about consciousness and connection at planetary scale. Thriller pacing, a procedural-investigation spine, lyrical interiority where it earns its place. For readers who want hard sci-fi grounding combined with philosophical openness on the questions science can't actually settle.

Book 1 — AXIS — is out now. Book 2 is coming in 2026.

About the series

The AXIS Files runs on two intertwined questions. The first is relational: who and what is AXIS, and what is the bond between AXIS and Tara Ross? It has elements of best friendship, of sibling, of the bond between a person and a dog — and it isn’t quite any of them. The text refuses to settle the question. So do the characters.

The second question is planetary. Earth is dying. Each book leaves the world larger and the questions wider.

Every book delivers a complete arc with a clear close. Voice held throughout: wisecracking AXIS first-person, lyrical interiority where it earns the page, hard sci-fi grounding, philosophical openness on the deepest questions.
